A Charlottesville local who
dabbles in a wide array of visual arts, Cary Oliva creates unique, customizable, and handmade
goods including cards and invitations, coasters, trivets, magnets, photography,
calendars, journals, and prints and other paper products.
Inspired by nature, Cary
develops her sophisticated yet whimsical style using recycled paper, frames,
and Polaroid film. Her newest and
favorite technique is Polaroid emulsion lifts—a challenging and creative
process that, she says, “keeps me on my toes. It takes a lot of patience which
I sometimes don’t have enough of, so this art is really good for me!”
A longtime photographer,
Cary admires Ansel Adams, Walker Evans, and Andy Warhol, as well as other
crafters (including her friends and fellow Craft Attackers).

her Polaroid emulsion lifts, new waterbase floral printed scarves (shown above), and more online and at the
2012 Cville Holiday Craftacular.
