Christopher Purcell of Purcell Toys

Stock up on locally handmade gifts for the little ones!

Christopher Purcell of Purcell Toys is a woodworker based in Charlottesville, Virginia, and he makes wonderful toys, puzzles, games and art out of found and reclaimed wood.

His toy trucks, airplanes, and cars are custom crafted from broken furniture, tree limbs, or scraps from other woodworkers. They're safe for children under (and over) three years of age.

Christopher learned to use hand and power tools in the construction trade, but he credits a variety of practices for his successful toy-making, including photography, guitar, hand-cut screen printing, frame and finish carpentry, and business management.

Contact Christopher for custom work, or browse his gallery on Etsy. You can also find his toys-in-progress and other updates on the artist's Facebook page.
